- Every Christmas until I was 7 years old, my mother would take me to see The Nutcracker. When I was 3 years old, I decided that I wanted to take ballet classes. My mother signed me up and took me to this dance store because I wanted to get a tu-tu like the ballet dancers in The Nutcracker had. So I walked into my first ballet class. I looked around me and everyone was wearing a black leotard and white tights. And there I was, in my pink leotard and my huge pink tu-tu.
